Luxembourg - Skype is expanded before it is taken from Microsoft Corp. \r
Skype said Monday that it plans to buy Altair, the Group text messaging and call provides. Privately owned Skype does not say how much she will pay, but the Wall Street Journal reported that people familiar with the transaction said that the price is about $85 million.
Luxembourg-based Skype was founded primarily as a way of making phone calls over the Internet in 2003. It seeks to reach people on multiple platforms now and recently introduced group video and bought a mobile video provider called Qik. Altair was last year at a rally called the TechCrunch disrupt hackathon founded.
Skype is from Microsoft is purchased. The business was in May and the companies hope that to close by end of this year.
